sforming Lives by the Power of the Holy Spirit
I can’t tell you the exact date that God revealed to me the vision for Destiny Covenant Church because it was over many days of seeking and a result of inspiration from several different sources that He showed me that this was His will for Ingrid, my children, and I for this season. It was with great joy that I accepted God’s divine will to pursue the establishment of a vibrant congregation that will be known as “a church with a life worth modeling.”
On June 18, 2009, nineteen of our friends and family members gathered with us at a local hotel conference room to hear the vision that God had given me for this new work. Of that nineteen, fifteen were led to join us in starting Destiny Covenant Church.
We were led to hold our first service on July 5, 2009 and we have never looked back. In the short time that we have been in existence we have witnessed an outpouring of God’s favor in securing all the resources that we have needed to put forth our pursuit to reach the students on the campus of the University of Alabama-Birmingham; the Southside of the city; and the Greater Birmingham community. We believe that the time is right and in God’s divine order.

Destiny refers to a predetermined course of events. It may be conceived as a predetermined future, whether in general or of an individual. It is a concept based on the belief that there is a fixed natural order to the cosmos.
Given this definition, we believe that God has a plan and purpose for our individual lives that are woven together into a perfect mosaic as we come together in the corporate setting of congregational life. Our goal is to assist and encourage believers in discovering their predetermined course, their destiny, and encouraging them as they “walk it out” in the earth.
Destiny exists for the express purpose of living out to the fullest the mandates of Christ to “Love the Lord, our God, with all our hearts, minds, souls, and strength and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves” and “to go into all the world and make disciples.”
To reach Birmingham and the world with the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism, discipleship, acts of service, and love.
We are committed to:
1.      Evangelizing Unbelievers through (Witness) – Matthew 28:19
2.      Establishing New Believers through (Discipleship) – Matthew 28:20
3.      Equipping True Believers for (Service) – Ephesians 4:11-12
4.      Exporting Mature Believers for (Missions) – Psalm 96:1-3
